IÂm independent but would like to find a special per to spend time enjoying everything the area has to offer, 3rd of July Fireworks in Chicago (Monroe Harbor), or such, conversation and just being together. I enjoy walking the dog, talking with my (he's 14, so I keep trying!), festivals, Navy Pier Fireworks, movies (comedies and action flicks), reading (best sellers and various history), biking (casually, bike path, street or forest preserve) camping (okay, I take an air mattress, we're not talking about really roughing it are we?), and swimming. I play golf, badly, but have a lot of fun doing it. My music taste is varied, old rock (Jethro Tull, Bob Seger, etc.), top 40 , classical, particularly guitar, jazz, old or new (have you been to the Jazz Showcase?), some blues, very limited country. I like board games, Scrabble, backgammon and chess. Goofy group participation games (Taboo, Scruples, etc.) are a blast with friends! I'm a little old-fashioned. I like having the door opened for me, walking arm in arm and or hand in hand. Cooking together, a video and cuddling on the couch, I think, can be a very good way to spend an evening. My Ideal Person
There are some basics that I would appreciate in a man, but any, all, or none may apply depending upon the individual. I'm tall, so I am looking for someone tall. Beyond that, what you are inside is what is going to get to me the most. Courteous, a little old-fashioned, demonstrative, and whatever else makes you , you! A good sense of humor and an appreciation of the ridiculous (and the humor therein) would be terrific, and hopefully you don't take yourself too seriously. Getting to know one another is high on your list of priorities, as it will be on mine, but realizing we each need to maintain the life we had before we met as we figure out how to have both. I'm interested in a lot of topics and know enough to probably be dangerous, but it would be nice to have a wide area of interest for conversations. Being a little (okay, maybe a lot) excited about being with someone who seems so great, but realizing that dreams of the future and places are goals, while living day to day is here and now, and both have to be worked on.
