Although Ive lived in Seattle for most of my life, I was raised outside of Boston and am still an Easterner at heartforthright and opinionated, with Ivy League smarts and a quick wit. But underneath that youll find a passionate heart that flutters at the slightest caresssomeone who loves to cuddle on the couch, hold hands at the movies and steal kisses in the kitchen. I was lucky enough to find my perfect dance partner right out of college. He and I spent the next 28 years together, before cancer claimed his life in 2008. Although no relationship is perfect, ours endured because we respected each other and never took the other for granted. Someday I hope to meet another man with whom I can share the second act of my life: someone whos mature, responsible, masculine, and professionally stablea man who values monogamy and who believes that drama belongs on the stage, not at home. Im looking for a guy whos educated and intelligent, with boundless curiosity and a passion for culturesomeone who knows the difference between Sondheim and Sontag, loves going to theatre, museums, galleries and movies, but also enjoys spending a leisurely evening entwined on the sofa with a sitcom on the boob tube and newspapers strewn around us.
I make my living as a writer and editor, so language is important to me. So is nature: I live for sunny days and long walks. Although Im not a jock by any stretch of the imagination, Im a bundle of energy and like to stay in shape--and I appreciate a date that does the same. I enjoy a good meal as much as the next guy, but fine wines and fancy restaurants dont interest me muchIm just as happy with frozen pizza and a bottle of Three Buck Chuck, as long as Im surrounded by good companions and stimulating conversation. In my free time I like to read (mostly newspapers and magazines), attend arts events, go antiquing, listen to jazz and musicals (yup, Im a show queen), and spend time fixing up my house on the beach. I adore animals, and share my life with a mini Aussie named Brady.
