Where Mermaids Stand....

Hi friends ! I miss you, but I feel so tired during the week that I can't find the energy to write. But it's Sunday again...and I want to share with you a story a friend told me , which I loved. " A teacher asked the kindergarten children to play a game where Bears chase Bunnies. The children who were Bears had to stand on the teacher's left. The children who were Bunnies had to stand on the teacher's right. A tiny girl came up and held out her small timid hand to the teacher and asked, "And where do the Mermaids stand ?" "There are no Mermaids", said the teacher. "But I am a Mermaid", bravely answered the girl. Then the teacher took the little girl's hand and told her, "If you can't find a place on the left or on the right, stand by me , in the middle."
WHERE DO WE BELONG ? Have we found a place among people and a home/peace for our souls? Or like the Mermaid we still can join neither the left nor the right, can settle neither on the land nor in the water, our feet are on the ground but our heads are in the clouds.... I put the topic to my students and these are the comments I got from them : < One of the reasons why it is difficult for us to define where we belong is because we are changing all the time. < As soon as we find where our friends are, we know where we belong. <Every question has a proper answer and every soul has a proper place. If we try hard, we can find a place for our soul. <Every person is a miracle which has not existed before. And we should not split miracles into groups. <Everybody has a covered place which is hiding our talent or the place we belong to, and we will discover it on our way to knowing ourselves. <The Mermaid was the only one who knew herself. Knowing ouselves sometimes takes a whole life. But being ourselves is our strength... <It is very important to be tolerant to different people. <Everybody is a piece of life's puzzle and has an exact place in it. If we are not in place, we feel uncomfortable and unhappy - and this spoils the harmony of the whole picture. Will you join the comments ? Thank you for dropping in !
Have a creative and challenging week !

 Late November
Now it is real, late autumn - the ground is covered with yellow leaves and more of them are darting through the air like flying thoughts difficult to catch. The branches of the trees are beginning to jut naked into the heavy damp sky. The sea has lost its bright summer tints and is nothing more but the still dull eye of a dying animal. But it is still beautiful. Nature is always beautiful.

My Fights

Hi again, bloggers! Thank you for supporting me to express my thoughts in English! Nasty weather here - temperatures suddenly dropped from 20*C to 10*C. No sun..But I'm fighting and hoping...What are your fights ?
My Fights I fight all my life. I fight my fears and uncertainties, my depressions and self-doubts, my own mediocrity. Most of all I fight TIME - our greatest enemy ! I don't fight people's faults - I just walk away. Sometimes I get tired and discouraged - specially when I remember ( how many times ? ) what an insignificant bit of the universe I am. But I know that if I leave myself to the stream, I will get drowned. And I don't want to.
Have a nice Sunday and good weather ! (Did you shift your clocks one hour back ?) I'm going to the wedding of a nephew of mine and hope to get warmed there !

Hi folks ! Autumn is here. How do you feel ??...
Yesterday, on my way to work I found a leaf. It was lying solitary red on the pavement among other autumn leaves.I picked it up and knew - it was my heart. Now, during the long working day I glance secretly at my leaf, pulsing in my bag and I know I am not dead, I am alive.

Driftwoods, smooth and weird, hiding messages, stranded on the beach, entangled in seaweeds, waiting for our sand steps to be freed and given a home. The driftwoods of our memories....coming and sailing away - sun moments, walk moments, travel moments, love moments, contemplation moments - blessed moments that keep our spirit alive in the prose of the day.

This is where I live and swim in summer. This is where I put my feet on the ground although most of the time my head is above the clouds. But a man's reach should exceed its grasp - or what is the sky for ? ...
Beautiful, isn't it ? My home is only 300m from the beach.I usually take this distance in 5min.,so eager and impatient am I to feel the embrace of the water. You know, till New Year I live with my memories from the summer and after that - longing for the summer.

Calendar from the Sea - 1

To a friend who wasn't intimidated by me July I am strolling through the garden in the warm evening, the lamps twinkling among the green branches. I am happy that it's summer and the nature is still open to me. The streets, restaurants and cafes are full of people - eating, drinking, talking, laughing, enjoying the night. There is music and lights everywhere. Time has stopped. It's really nice in Bourgas in summer. August The sea is not the same as in July - it is windy and wavy but I am unwillimg to lose touch with it.I like the way the water caresses my body while swimming - like the touch of man's fingertips on my body. The sense of free motion and cleansing, the smell of freshly washed clothes intoxicate me as the mountain air does. September Early September - gipsy's summer as we, the natives, say. I am lying on the beach,my hands stretched over my head, fully devoted to the sun. The gentle breeze flutters over my body like a silk veil, teasing me, soothing me...It's hot. But I like it hot. October I always stop to smell the flowers - life is pulsing in my veins. I am sitting on a bench in the hushed sea park, facing the sun, absorbing its warmth with closed eyes, filling my body with strength. The golden autumn, we are having it again. I am crazy about the sun - my greatest lover. November I can wait - like the multi - coloured lights of a seaside town reflected in the still black water, waiting for the day to break, like the seed in the soil waiting for the spring to be awaken. I will wait for the summer to come again to meet you.
