a long ago fantasy rekindled

in a time long ago..and for many years..i had..what everyone would call a celebrity crush on a tv newswoman. ohhhhh..this woman owned my heart. would fantasize about meeting her..or maybe coming across her,and her son in a predicament on the road in my twice a week ,couple hundred mile trips.commute really...
i had pics of her in my truck..clipped out of newspapers as she was seen "around town"(nyc). read all i could on her. and no..i wasnt a stalker or anything...even though some might think me crude in lots of ways..i am a gentleman.and..would never have done anything to hurt or scare this woman.
anyway...as christmas of '93 approached,and having lost my father just over a month earlier... my niece gave me an early christmas present..as she just could'nt wait for me to have it. it seems..she had written this women..telling her about me being a huge fan ,and requested a photo. and.. I GOT IT ..signed by the..personally..to me. well sir.... you coulda knocked me over with a feather. of course..it never woulda happened,cause i was 10 feet off the ground. every morning..waking up to see her face..and every night seeing her,just before i turned out the lights. then.... tragedy struck. i read..she had gotten engaged. my heart sank..i was happy for her,but still.and i knew then what i had to do...down came her picture..and into a drawer.to look at her that way..when she was about to be another mans wife..i couldnt do it.
THEN ..in 94,and 95.. i was out of a job and working parttime in my nephews deli.and i got to talk frequently with a woman who came into the store.. the wife of a weather man who years ago had worked with this woman. i told the wife about my feelings for "the woman",and the wife was really sympathetic for me. told me..she wished she had know me when the 2 had worked together..she would have invited us both to dinner,as she felt we would have been a good match. can you believe that??!! PLUS.. she told me she had been to a party the woman had thrown..and how perky..and positive,and how (the wifes term not mine) full of sex the woman was.. lol...i almost started to cry
i always felt a closeness for the wife after that..as she was a nice lady and i could tell she really meant what she said.and wasnt jiving me.
well.....after all these years..i googled something that led me to this womans info.. and could watch a video of her as i havent for quite some years now not been able to see her on tv..yes..i believe she is still on. and,watching that video..rekindled something..especially when i heard a term that..i probably misunderstood ,that led me to believe..shes not married. am sure i am wrong,but..oh well...... im an old man now..so people tell me,so i guess i can give myself a little leeway.
anyway...IF....through some STRANGE twist of fate..you ARE no longer married..and you SHOULD want to get out of the city...this old cowboy is still waiting..here at the lake. i may not be what i once was on the "outside" ..but on the inside..the feelings are still strong.so..."come home"

doesnt seem to be much sense even checking to see who posted new entries on here..the recent takeover of the blog by these..jerks(i am being nice here).. that list entry after entry about sports to be watched..sometimes almost the whole blog screen tied up with these clowns. and what gets me..friend finder doesnt seem to want to do a thing about it! no commercial on here i believe is one of the rules..yet i have seen people on here trying to sell ..or touting products. now this sports crap!(dont get me wrong i like sports..and IF i want to read about whats being shown..i will go to a different venue!!
i am not the only one thinking this way i know!! and one sees less and less of the old,typical bloggers on here..i wonder why?

CHRISTMAS EVE.. what a night

well..went to mass and fed the kids..and myself after..and had ..lets see...this is my 5th glass of crown royal..and had 2 beers too.. they all help to push the memories of good christmas eves past,way back into the recesses of my life. and the fires..wow!! got the place so warm..had to get out for a bit. dressed..told the kids i would be right back,they looked..thinking they were going out to pee again,but they had just been... so...
i went for a walk..down the road..cold..and clear..and..being christmas eve..i didnt figure God would let anything happen to me,and if He did..well..i probably wouldnt know about it for long ,so..i walked without even taking a gun. it was quiet. still.no movement.if i stopped walking..almost looked like a painting. no sound..no cars anywhere..didnt figure there would be..no neighbors.1 went away for a few..and another..6 kids..theyre all tucked in getting ready i guess..and..glad to say..no animal sounds. fact is..it wasnt till i was on my way home..after stopping and checking every star i could see in the sky..looking for my relatives..somewhere..anywhere...none found...well..it was then i heard the coy dogs..but they were up on the mountain..and i figured i was close enough to the house that even i coulda got my fat ass back in time..gun or no. nahhhh..being christmas eve..i wouldnta shot 'em..woulda just fired to scare them.
oh..the relatives..the ones that say.."oh..we wish you were with us".?and the ones that the day before..i finally get some christmas greetings...the phone hasnt rung.

5 years ago today..i brought my auggie home from the breeder. and..2 days later ..because i felt guilty..and because everybody was yelling at me (lol) i went back and got his sissy,molly.she was the last one left. i did want them both,from the get go,but got cold feet at the last minute cause i felt at my age..they would have run me ragged.and they did..lol. on christmas night..i was ready to give them away. but i got over it. and it all worked out. i remember it all like it was yesterday. that first day,when molly came to make us a complete family..with her on the kitchen floor..and i put auggie in to see what was..they ran at each other and excitedly played/fought together..then..crashed on the big pillow and slept..entwined together.i chuckled in amazement.
tonight they will both get a little ice cream(especially bought for the occasions)..and again in 2 days..to celebrate  ..i wont actually have any..but...
you pretend..and i will pretend too.
p.s. thank you God for auggie the doggie..and molly the dolly.. we are family

big day..went to town to do some shops..in the dollar store..a very popular meeting place here.... and,on a whim while buying things,i bought some snacks.
a bag of nacho bugles and jalapeno cheese dip.and now..i think i am melting!!!!!!!!!! my head..the whole head..but especially the top,is soaking wet..water..sweat is pouring outta me!! checked the container for melt warnings..but there is none. so,maybe this is the end of me.will just say..been good knowing you..those that i know,and been better NOT knwing you..to all that i dont! especially those that i tried to know andwas ..ignored..blown off.refused or denied.
some may think i am joshing,so...

fall is like spring here

well now... this fall,so far, is turning out to be alot like spring was this year...WET!! have a few more customers to take care of before the end of the cutting season and it seems like its all making me wait and wait.
took advantage of the rain yesterday to put up some halloween decos around the house..just window clingons..thats clingons with a "c" not KLINGONS with a "k" (ka plak) geez. and..the artificial electrified pumpkins..on timers i might add. havent done the real pumpkin carning in years now..got tired of the squirrels always eating them before hand. hey!! i cant kill everyone of them..but i tried..hehe.
went to the vampire this morning and as usual..stopped and bought gooey bakery stuff for afterward breakfast.seeing as how i had to fast since last night. its bad i know..but i only do it when the blood gets taken every 3 months or so.
decisions decisions... trying to decide whether to go for the new toyota mid size pickup or the nissan one..(am downsizing from the long bed chevy as i just dont do that much work anymore) got the model and everything..even the colors picked out in both trucks... and i even know i will have to get the seat heaters put into the toyota.you'd think their top of the line would come with it,but......... and.. have gotten spoiled..want my cheeks nice and toasty in the winter time. funny to,you know..the older i get..and i guess cause i have no one else to worry about..i kind of revert back to those thrilling days of yesteryear and choose the sporty type trucks still.yes..contemplating going with the louder exhaust system if i go with the 'yota.
well.guess that..oh wait..forgot..brought some of my tomatoes to an older customer couple i have AND was given back the empty jar that i gave them home made apple sauce in..that was a HINT..they want more.lol..she said she had to fight it away from her husband..best she ever tasted she said..and she got some of the batch sans the rum soaked raisins.lol
well..thats enough for now..the knuckles are starting to stiffen up some..damn weather.. BUT... we could be walking around..at least half naked in the sun and warmth here ..IF...

a damp and chilly..at least to me.. day here. was chilly enough this morning to make this the FIRST FIRE of the season day.woke up this morning and it was 60 in house,so....... kept it going all day so far too as i am feeling kind of not to well. took cold pills earlier, and ate a big bowl of soup then napped a little. and now as i sit here shoving candy corn in my face i am trying to remember if its feed a cold ..starve a fever..or the other way around. well..either way..i am EATING this candy corn..and no one can do anything about it
think i should not be sick? well..then...

some words of wisdom for today in a story that was told to me a long time ago..but seems i never heeded.
once upon a time there was a cat.a tom cat that was just out for a stroll in the sun.he came upon a set of railraoad tracks and crossed them. but,he stopped just after he crossed the last track and he looked to see what the noise was that approached him. it was a train..coming full speed. he sat there and noticed that the tip of his tail was still resting on the track.so..just as the train got to him,he turned his head back to see what would happen when the train ran over his tail end. and....SPLATT!!! totally decapitated the cat. big mess...BIGGGGGGGG MESS.
so..what did we learn from this? well..the moral of the story is..never lose your head over a piece of tail.
here endth the lesson
so..you think your a stud..and i'll think i am wise..
